I recently read this comment on another topic, and it struck me as very applicable to how Agile has been "installed" (ugh!) in so many organisations:

"They are stuck placing low-dimensional limits on high-dimensional problems."

More cynical thoughts:

When they say “prove your value”, they’re really saying, “stop questioning things and get in line” - they’re not literally asking for you to come up with rational justifications or numbers (yes, Cooper’s right). In fact, that’s just further proof that you don’t get how politics works and have no place in the power structure.

Because in many companies all the talk about creating value for customers is mainly a cover story. The business is in the business of generating narratives for the market.

Great article. I wonder, though, why you are not turning to broader philosophies of agility like BetaCodex www.betacodex.org, at this point.

On a complete side note: I am a native speaker of Esperanto. Why mentioning it? It is a chance to show that there is actually a language community, no matter how small it is.

A native Esperanto speaker! That's cool. That has got to be a very small group!

There is an estimate of 200-2000 native speakers. I know several dozens personally.
